Mick O’Dea’s portrait of Ernie O’Malley and the gates that O'Malley escaped through on 14th February 1921 have gone on permanent display in the museum of Kilmainham Gaol. Mick is pictured here with Ernie’s son, Cormac, who commissioned the portrait and donated it to the museum.
